When you’re ready for a class focused less on strength and stamina and more on flexibility, this is a great class to try! This class is perfect for all levels with the intention of allowing muscles to relax and lengthen. No prior experience or flexibility required to enjoy this class!
We focus predominately on stretching and releasing tight muscles, ligaments and tendons. You will learn the concepts of reciprocal inhibition where you contract a set of muscles to stretch the opposing group of muscles. The deep stretching takes strain off of the skeletal system. We hold stretches for extended periods of time, so we encourage the use of blocks to support your body in the postures so you can find your sweet spot, where effort meets relaxation.
The benefits of this class include increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved circulation, energy and vitality, improved muscular balance, improved athletic performance, and reduced risk of injury. It also is a very meditative experience, so you will reduce stress and feel refreshed.
Class temperature is 103-105 degrees, depending on the client preferences. The heat assists in building flexibility and improving mobility. As an added bonus, the infrared heat encourages sweating and cellular regeneration to help detoxify your body.
