  • The radiant Infrared heating system we have at Hill country Hot Yoga is designed to heat the room to 105 degrees in a clean, quiet and sun-like manner. The heat penetrates your skin easily (as verified by Yale University’s Pierce Labs) to be 98% absorbed by human skin. Its benefits include: Increased flexibility for safer and deeper stretching, Improved circulation for better healing and cardiovascular function (lowering blood pressure, oxygenating organs and cells and detoxifying the body through sweat). The heat intensifies the yoga practice so you will get an amazing workout as well as a calming and stress-relieving meditation. The zone control we have built into our system provides the ability for the teacher to turn off rows of the heat panels to support the clients needs and preferences.

  • All the OHYA / Bikram 26 postures are beginner postures and you may take a few classes to learn them. It’s helpful to focus on yourself in the mirror as most more experienced practitioners learn to do so you can hear the teachers cues and adjust your body alignment for maximum benefits. Additionally, you will find our community is extremely supportive and friendly so you will now feel intimidated.

  • When you are less flexible, you need yoga more! Contrary to popular belief, being flexible isn’t a prerequisite for practicing yoga! Many times you are either very strong or very flexible, yoga helps to balance both your strength and flexibility. Some people are born naturally flexible, others have to work a little longer to attain their optimum range of motion. A regular yoga practice will definitely increase your flexibility. However, flexibility isn’t yoga’s only goal or its only benefit. The ultimate benefit of yoga — to promote radiant health inside and out — can be experienced by everyone, regardless of whether or not they can touch their toes or twist their spines.

  • This is a personal decision for you to make between you and your doctor. We recommend trying this healing and therapeutic practice of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises because it is extremely powerful for pain relief and injury recovery. The practice is especially good for back pain or injuries. We stress safety and personal limitations, but encourage you to challenge yourself. Take a class and see what limitations your injuries have then modify the postures to your needs. You are your best teacher for finding the edge of effort and relaxation in each posture. Our helpful and knowledgeable teachers will offer suggestions for modifications, so please inform us of your injuries before class starts.
