Welcome Karen Schexnaydre

Please join us in welcoming our newest teacher, Karen Schexnaydre.  We are so excited to have her teaching with us. Look for her on the schedule July 14th at 11:15am, July 18th at 5:30pm, August 4th at 11:15am and August 8th at 5:30pm.

Karen took her first Bikram Yoga class in 200. She had taken a few yoga and Pilates classes before, but she felt like she still had to “work out”. Where was the sweat and increased heart rate?  Well, she found that in Bikram Yoga.  She also found a complete release after class.  By taking Bikram Yoga on her way home from work, she was able to completely forget about her day and start the evening with a calm mind.  She had a change of life decision at the end of 2004, and went to Bikram teacher training in early 2005.

At the training, she realized that she was absolutely doing the right thing. She had always thought of Bikram Yoga as a way to keep herself and others healthy (in muscle/lung/heart). At training, She learned that this yoga keeps EVERY part of your body healthy (including your digestive, endocrine, lymphatic, and nervous systems) and can make profound differences in people’s lives. Hearing students’ stories of how Bikram Yoga has changed their lives physically, mentally, and spiritually is the most rewarding thing she has ever experienced.

She finds her personal practice has evolved from “How can I do a better bow pose” to “How can I stay healthy as long as possible”.   She took her first yoga class when she was 33 years old, and she still feels that young 23 years later, thanks to a regular practice.  She looks forward to practicing for another 23 years!
